Julia Storm is a Los Angeles-based Digital Media Wellness Educator, writer, speaker and founder of ReConnect. Julia founded ReConnect with the mission of providing parents a whole child and whole family approach to preparing kids for life in the Digital Age. Prior to launching ReConnect, Julia served as Director of Production for The Mother Company; a production company dedicated to creating media for young children based on social-emotional curricula. During her tenure at The Mother Company Julia produced award-winning children’s media content for Netflix, Amazon, iTunes and PBS in partnership with the top child development specialists in the country. She formed a relationship with Common Sense Media and started to develop an interest in the role that screens play in the social/emotional wellbeing of children. In her quest to better understand and educate herself about the way digital technology, specifically mobile devices, were impacting children, schools, and family systems, Julia sought out researchers, psychologists, and journalists.

Having founded ReConnect, in 2017, Julia provides practical advice as an educator, consultant, and speaker to help parents, children, school administrators, community and religious organizations, A-List celebrity clients, corporate and non-profit companies, and at conferences to better understand, navigate, and thrive in the digital world. After 15 years working in the film and television industry, Julia was selected to participate in the Southern California Counseling Center’s Para-professional Program where she underwent training and supervision while serving the community asamental health counselor. Julia is also the head of the Digital Citizenship Committee at Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Wonderland Elementary, working with the administration and parent community to implement a robust Digital Citizenship curriculum and Parent Ed program.

Julia is a frequent speaker at educational conferences, schools, and businesses. She has also shared her expertise as a guest on on The KTLA Morning News.

She received her BA from Princeton University and earned a Masters from UCLA’s School of Film, Television, and Digital Media. When she’s not working, Julia spends most of her time keeping up with her two very active and beautiful sons.

The Mother Company has been supporting families with award-winning content for over a decade, offering expert resources for parents and teachers, books and television shows for toddlers through teens, live family events, and more.
